OUR ROOTS

At the heart of The Grand Connection is the belief that the strongest relationships are built on the moments we spend truly getting to know one another.

Our name and our logo (the Crann Bethadh, or Celtic Tree of Life) represent this enduring bond. In ancient tradition, the tree is a symbol of the link between all generations and lives. Its roots reach deep, drawing strength from the people and stories that ground us, while its branches stretch toward the future we build together.

Based in Calgary, Alberta, we use snail mail to help you find deliberate time to slow down, reflect, share, and most importantly, to connect.

Snail mail is having a moment right now, and it's timely. In a digital world, analog rituals like this are so important for our mental and emotional wellness.

Not only does letter writing provide quiet, slow, "solo" time, it is also a way for humans to connect at a deeper level, beyond the surface.

About Me

Hi 👋, thanks for being here. I'd like to introduce myself.

Like a lot of small business founders, I'm a creative person with a restless soul. My last small creative business endeavour was 15 years ago, when I wrote and published a children's book, The Trees Grin Beside Me (I have a thing with trees). Meanwhile, I've been raising my boys and working my 9-5 job.

I remember when I wrote my book, I had an ember of an idea in me that ignited into a bonfire of action. This is how I feel now with this snail mail business, and it's wonderful to have that fire burning again.

Snail mail spoke to me because I've been desiring a return to simpler, analog experiences. I've also noticed how difficult it is to keep in touch with old friends and family in meaningful ways with the busy lives we lead. My hope is that The Grand Connection will feed people's need for unplugging and slowing down, while faciltating ways to connect.

I believe this is going to be a beautiful experience.
